Features

  • It is an inflammation of the bone marrow. Usually arises from a dental infection.
  • The acute phase of the suppurative osteomyelitis is rapid and shows no radiographic signs in first 8-10 days.
  • Without treatment the infection may progress into a chronic phase with bone destruction.
  • Poorly ‘moth-eaten’ radiolucency.
