Nasopalatine duct cyst

Features

  • The most common non-odontogenic cyst. It arises from epithelial remnants of the nasopalatine duct or incisive canal.
  • Site: Midline, anterior maxilla.
  • Unilocular, round or oval, well-defined, well corticated (unless infected).
  • Adjacent teeth: displaced, rarely resorbed.
  • It may cause palatal expansions
