Ameloblastic fibro-odontoma

Characteristics
  • Usually in young adults. Most common location is the anterior region of the mandible
  • It is a unilocular radiolucency in early stages and as it grows usually becomes multilocular with honeycomb appearance. It has an irregular shape and often ill-defined borders.
  • Possible effects on adjacent teeth: displacement, resorption, destruction of lamina dura. It can cause considerable expansion.
