Stafne’s bone cavity (Lingual salivary gland depression)
- It is always asymptomatic and discovered incidentally during radiographic examination.
- The radiographic appearance and the location are characteristic.
- Mostly is located in the angle of the mandible, between the mandibular canal and the lower border.
- Radiograpically is a unilocular, round or oval, well-defined radiolucency with variable cortication. Diameter of the lesion is between 1 to 3 cm.
