Characteristics
  • It is a hereditary disorder.
  • It develops in early childhood and causes bilateral enlargement of the jaws. The swelling is progressive and painless.
  • Bilateral multilocular radiolucencies at the angle of the mandible. Occasionally affects both jaws (posterior maxilla).
  • Well-defined and well-corticated borders.
  • Adjacent teeth: marked displacement, impaction, root resorption.
