Characteristics
  • The most common non-odontogenic cyst. It arises from epithelial remnants of the nasopalatine duct or incisive canal.
  • Location: midline, anterior part of the maxilla.
  • Unilocular, round or oval, well-defined, well-corticalized (unless infected).
  • Adjacent teeth: are displaced but rarely resorbed.
  • It may cause palatal expansion.
