  • The most common type of metabolic bone diseases. It affects mostly women after menopause. High risk for pathological fractures.
  • Generalized, gradual decrease in bone mass. Histologically, the bone is normal.
  • Radiographically: Generalized reduction of bone density, thinning and erosion of cortical plates and the lower border of the mandible and thinning of the lamina dura.
