Foreign bodies (focal)
Characteristics
- Different foreign bodies may cause focal radiopacities.
- The radiographic appearance depends on the nature of foreign body, its density and its location.
Examples of common foreign bodies seen in panoramic images, caused by jewellery or other objects.
Necklace, Nose piercing, Tong piercing, Lead apron, Hair clip
Ιntraoral radiography. Examples of common artefacts caused by jewellery or spectacles.
Wire in the tongue.
