TMG dysfunctie

Kenmerken
  • Interne ontregeling: bij een gesloten mond is de discus verplaatst, normaliter naar anterior.
  • Myo-faciale pijn / dysfunctie syndroom
  • Kaakkopje, articulaire oppervlak en glenoid tonen normale radiografische verschijning
  • Mogelijke toename of afname van de totale omvang van de gewrichtsruimte.
  • Mogelijke verplaatsing van het kaakkopje.

CBCT images of right and left TMJ. Right condyle is positioned concentrically in the fossa. Left condyle is positioned posteriorly indicating disk displacement.

CBCT  Right and Left TMJ  lateral tomograms. With the mouth closed both  condyles are positioned  posteriorly in the mandibular fossa indicating anterior disc displacement. With the mouth open both condyles are translated normally beyond the articular eminence.

With the mouth open both condyles show a reduced translation and are placed posterior to the articular eminence. The case was diagnosed as anterior disk displacement without reduction (locking).
