  • Facial asymmetry is the most prevalent clinical sign of developmental conditions in the TMJ region.
  • The most common anomalies are: Condylar hyperplasia – Condylar hypoplasia.
  • Congenital disorders affecting the developent of the condylar head include: Hemifacial microsomia and Hemifacial hypetrophy.
  • Incidental findings;Bifid condyle (due to obstructed blood supply or trauma) and Pterygoid pit or depression (pseudocystic appearance).
