Odontoma (mixed) .
- Relatively common lesion.
- Two types: complex and compound odontoma.
- Complex odontoma is composed of haphazardly arranged dental hard tissues.
- Compound odontoma is composed of many small “denticles”
- It usually occurs in young patients.
- It is usually asymptomatic.
- Failure of eruption of a permanent tooth may be the first presenting sign. It is commonly found peri-coronal to the impacted tooth.
- Well defined borders. The internal pattern of the lesion is more radiopaque compared to the normal bone.
