Chondrosarcoma .

  • Malignant neoplasm of mesenchymal tissue producing undifferentiated cartilage
  • Mean age of occurrence is in the 3rd and 4th decade.
  • Most common location: anterior maxilla, symphysis, coronoid process and condyle.
  • Signs and symptoms: Pain, swelling, tooth mobility and displacement.
  • Radiographic findings: Radiolucency with irregular borders with gradual deposition of sclerosing tissue. The amount of the deposition varies according to the tumor progression. In 25% of cases, sub periosteal bone deposits with the characteristic ‘sunray’ appearance,  may  be visualized.
