Characteristics
  • Osteopetrosis is an uncommon disease of unknown cause.
  • It is generally subdivided in two main types, the clinically benign and the clinically malignant forms.
  • It is characterized by overgrowth and sclerosis of bone with resultant thickening of the bony cortices and narrowing of the marrow cavities.
