Condylar fractures .

  • Condylar fractures can be classified according to their position as: Condylar head fractures, Condylar neck fractures, Sub condylar fractures.
  • Condylar fractures can be: Incomplete, Cracked, or Complete  (displaced or non-displaced).
  • Condylar neck fractures are most common and are often accompanied by dislocation of the condylar head.
  • Imaging features: In incomplete and cracked fractures a radiolucent line is visible. In complete fractures the radiolucent line may vary in width depending on dislocation of bone fragments. If the bone fragments overlap a bone structure instead of radiolucent line radiopacity may be seen.
