- It is a multifocal cancer of the plasma cells.
- The most common malignancy of bone in adults.
It occurs in adults older than 30 years.
- Multiple round radiolucencies in the skull and jaws (more often in the mandible).
- Lesion margins are usually well-defined but not corticated (punched-out)
- Symptoms and signs include pain, swelling, paraesthesia, soft tissue mass and tooth mobility. Large lesions can lead to pathological fractures.
