Aneurysmal bone cyst .

  • Aneurysmal bone cyst is a pseudocyst of vascular origin. It consists of an osseous cavity lined by fibrous connective tissue and containing cavernous spaces filled with blood.
  • It is usually found in children and adolescents.
  • Most common location: molar region and anterior area of the mandible.
  • Early, small  lesion may be unilocular but as it grows it becomes multilocular (soap bubble or honeycomb appearance).
  • Often well defined and well corticated borders.
  • It may cause extensive cortical expansion and swelling. The adjacent teeth are displaced but root resorption is rare.
