Cherubism .

  • It is a hereditary disorder.
  • Clinically it causes bilateral facial swelling in children. The swelling grows progressively without causing pain.
  • The radiographic picture is pathognomonic. Bilateral multilocular radiolucencies located at the body and ramus of the mandible. Occasionally it affects both jaws (posterior maxilla).
  • Well-defined and well-corticated borders.
  • Adjacent teeth: marked displacements, impactions and root resorptions.
  • The disease regresses with age.
