Aneurysmal bone cyst


  • Rare, localized, non-neoplastic, proliferative lesion of vascular tissue, containing giant cells
  • Mostly found in young people.
  • More often in posterior body of mandible.
  • Unilocular (early stages, multilocular (soap-bubble appearance)
  • Usually well-defined and well-corticated
  • It can causes marked bony expansion and displacement of the adjacent teeth (resorption is rare).
