Florid cemento-osseous dysplasia (radiopacity) .
- Florid cemento-osseous dysplasia is a benign condition that usually involves multiple quadrants of the jaws.
- The lesions are often bilaterally and symmetrically positioned and are associated with the apices of the teeth, if present.
- It is clinically the most extensive and diffuse form of periapical cemental dysplasia.
- The adjacent teeth are typically vital, not displaced and not resorbed.
Radiographic appearance
- Early stage: Radiolucent lesion but not corticated.
- Intermediate stage: Radiopacities within the apical radiolucencies.
- Late stage: Densely radiopaque lesion surrounded by a thin radiolucent line.
