Malignant salivary gland tumors .
- The tumor originates from the major or minor salivary glands or in the wall of a cyst.
- Usually they infiltrate the maxilla in the posterior area of the hard palate and in the maxillary tuberosity.
- Peripheral osteolytic lesion with ill defined borders.
- If the lesion is located in the posterior maxilla, sinus involvement is a common finding.
