Central giant cell granuloma (circumscribed) .

  • It occurs in young adults (rarely after 30 years).
  • Most common location is the anterior region of the mandible
  • Possible effects on adjacent teeth: displacement, resorption, loss of lamina dura.
  • Radiographically it appears as  unilocular radiolucency in early stages, but as it grows usually becomes multilocular with honeycomb appearance.
  • It has an irregular shape and often ill-defined borders.
  • It can cause considerable bone expansion.
