  • It is an area where ingrowth of osseous tissue did not take place, after root resection procedures.
  • It consists of dense connective tissue and is situated at the apex of a pulpless tooth.
  • It is a well defined lesion and remains constant in size over the years.
  • It is usually asymptomatic.
